Pinpointer was founded in 2019 in Karlstad. We are the platform that civil engineering contractors, clients, receiving facilities and municipalities use to digitalise the entire chain from order to invoice.
THE FOUNDERS
We built Pinpointer to solve our own problems
Joakim Klintred — Co-founder and CEO
It was 2019, in Karlstad. Joakim ran a civil engineering business and was in the middle of a large remediation project in Gustavsberg outside Stockholm — contaminated soil to be removed, every load documented, every krona on the right line. With major remediation came major costs, and with major costs came the requirement that liquidity must hold. That meant outgoing invoices needed to go on time, every week. That in turn meant every load needed to add up — from excavator bucket to receipt.
It didn't. Weighbridge tickets came in long after the load was driven, if they came in at all. Drivers had forgotten receipts in cabins or lost them in the rain. The weighbridge lists didn't match reality. There was no progress picture — no one knew how far the project had come, where the masses had gone, or what was coming the following week. And without control of progress, it was impossible to plan transports or resources.
That's when it became clear that something had to happen. Not in a year or two — now.
Louise Thideby — Co-founder
Louise was finance director in the same company. From her side of the problem, it looked like this: invoices that couldn't be sent because the basis was missing. Reconciliations against contracts that took days every month. Cash flows that were impossible to forecast when weighbridge tickets appeared weeks late. For her, it wasn't an IT problem — it was liquidity risk. If the basis wasn't there, the invoice wasn't there. And without invoice, no money in.
Together they built a simple digital system. Not a platform — just something that kept track of the loads, connected them to projects, made them visible to everyone in the chain. Drivers no longer had to search for receipts. Operators saw where each load was going. Finance got documentation directly instead of weeks later. Administrative work that had taken days each month disappeared almost overnight — and everyone was decidedly happy.
When the tool solved their own problems, it turned out to solve exactly the same problems the rest of the industry was struggling with. Seven years later, Pinpointer is used by contractors, clients, receiving facilities and municipalities across Sweden — so that the same thing doesn't have to be repeated anywhere else.

We are hosted in Sweden. Data stays in EU/EEA. This is a deliberate architectural choice for an industry where data ownership and operational security are business-critical.

We integrate with the systems you already use. Open standards (BEAst, Peppol, REST API) instead of proprietary formats. Your data is yours, not ours.

Pinpointer is built for the regulatory landscape that civil engineering lives in. GDPR by design. Annual penetration testing. Data processing agreements (DPA) available for all customers. ISO 27001 certification in preparation.
